Piano Lessons for Kids

private lessons downtown Montreal or online

(8 years and +)

Would you like your child to be introduced to the world of meditation and music in a creative playful way?

Giving children the opportunity to grow through music is such a rewarding experience for me.

In my music lessons for kids I teach children to gradually feel and recognize their emotions. We will discover relaxation, while sharing the magic and benefits of playing a musical instrument.

Together we will go through piano technique exercises, a classical and pop repertoire, and small meditations to boost their concentration and relaxation during the music lessons.

Think of my sessions like a combination of creating a small Mozart and Buddah at the same time. :)

FAQ

  • All children from 6-16 years old can benefits from these piano lessons!

However, these can especially be helpful for shy and introverted children and teenagers.

  • The best age to introduce your child to piano lessons is between the ages of 6-10, but it is never too late to start!

I am able to support and teach any children 6 years or older. If your child is over 16 years old, my piano lessons for adults may be a better fit.

  • In addition to piano technique exercises, musical theory, and the classical and pop repertoire, students will experience short meditations to amplify their relaxation and focus.

The opportunity for self-growth in a non-judgmental environment also helps them to open their creativity and self-expression, which further supports their ability to learn music and benefits their overall life.

  • I always start by asking the child what mood they are in so we can talk a little bit about it.

Then we talk about their practice, do a small wellness meditation or fun exercise, and start some note reading.

After that we work on exercises to develop the fluidity of their music comprehension, understand the basics of music, and play songs on the piano.

All of this is done in a safe, relaxing, non-judgemental atmosphere so that they can express themselves in a healthy and creative way.

  • Of course! I always reserve 5 minutes for the parent(s) at the beginning and end of the lesson to get in touch with how the practices are going and to help you be present for your child.

This helps us make the most of your child’s piano lessons.

  • No, the lessons can not replace music therapy or regular therapy.

Since I don’t have accreditation in those areas, these lessons are created mainly to develop children’s creativity and wellness (not in a therapeutical sense).

If your child has anxiety disorders or autism I recommend getting in touch with a specialized therapist.
